The journey takes some strange twists subjecting Rick to social and moral issues that contradicted his Catholic upbringing. He overcame his lack of baseball talent to become an all-star player both in high school and college; persevered in his engineering career to become a manager and leading expert in aerospace ground systems; with the grace of God overcame personal tragic losses and heartbreak to move on in life, and finally, returned to his roots through the renewal of an unrequited grade school love 45 years later.
