About the Author
Sanyo Louise Ward, a native islander of Jamaica, was raised by her grandmother among her five other siblings in the very close knit yet airy town of St. Catherine. Sanyo left her native island of Jamaica back in February of 1989 to come and live with her mother here in the United States. This journey really brought her back to the roots of the island left behind but still lives on within her and had her longing for memories deeply buried, and it was then that she began to write about what she long missed and cherished growing up as a child in Jamaica. A few years later, Sanyo found her quiet spot on the steps of a staircase, at the back of a building she was living at on Harvard Street in New Jersey. It was there that she wrote her first poem titled, "DECEPTION" which you can find in her poetry book. Sanyo realized her passion for writing while enrolled as a sixth grader at formerly known Vernon L. Davey Junior High School, currently serving as one of East Orange's performing arts schools. During her enrollment at Vernon L. Davey Jr. High School, Sanyo was looked upon as a model student and student citizen of her school district. She earned the privilege of being polished with such titles as "ReaderWriter" of the year award for her school district, after entering numerous writing competitions and also as a member of the prestigious National Junior Honor Society. It was then that she found her inner writer, embraced it and honed her skills from there forward. Sanyo has not looked back ever since, and is now working on publishing her second book. Currently, she is involved in the creative fields as a certified interior designer as well as a creative prints designer. She thrives with creativity as you'll see from how she designed and formatted her own book. A very driven, enthusiastic and passionate young lady for all that she does and might I say, does it very well. While in college, she also earned a spot on the Dean's List for her outstanding academics, which also validates her passion and drive in whatever she pursues. Her experience over the years have certainly matured her and has proven her wisdom beyond her age and what one would think she is to be. While she may look twenty, her wisdom and knowledge is that of an elder one, simply because she made it her priority to educate and equip herself beyond what she's learned throughout secular educational systems as well as in credit to her grandmother's teachings and that of her childhood church. Sanyo is also a mother of three beautiful young boys, soon to be men, Bomani, Jolani and Mahjadi. She takes great joy in sharing of herself with the world in helping others becoming, as she would say it, "BETTER THAN THEY WERE YESTERDAY". She solemnly believes in living in the moment and taking one day at a time, and so she's given tools necessary within her book, one day at a time for you to make a positive change within yourself in a very unique and charismatic way! I hope and trust that you all will enjoy the reading and application of this book as much as I have. God speed and his good blessings! And again like Sanyo puts it, "READ AND BE LIBERATED!
