About the Book

Katrina, Our Story is a journal by Mary S Landry detailing the events brought about by Hurricane Katrina in the area north of New Orleans. While much of Louisiana and Mississippi suffered, this first-hand account through the eyes of one person explains the extreme highs and lows of living through such a life-changing experience. The author describes the emotional and stressful choices made each day as she and her family struggled to keep their family, friends, home and belongings safe. It describes the despair and joy, as the storm brought about the best and the worst in humanity. Finally, it sums up the hope that the storm would create a new and better society as the residents remember Katrina.

About the Author

Mary S Landry, a lifetime resident of Louisiana, is an honor graduate of St. Scholastica Academy. She comes from a large, truly southern family with her father from Sallis, Mississippi and her mother from Marksville, Louisiana. Mary has five brothers and one sister, who all live in St. Tammany Parish. She attended Louisiana State University, but left college, married and had two children before returning to school and graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Business Management several years later. During her career as a business administrator, mother and wife, Mary only exercised her writing skills on a personal level and in her career life. While this is her first published work, she has several other projects in development. She currently resides in Covington, Louisiana with her husband, Michael. They have six grown children and five grandchildren.
