“Hello King Edward, it’s me, over here,” a voice called out.
King Edward looked over to the side and in a basket left on the floor was a blue toy truck.
“Hello, if it’s not my old friend Bob Truck, How are you?” asked King Edward walking over to him.
“Fine! I do need to drive for some exercise,” replied Bob
“Why don’t you climb out of the basket and come with us? We are going to see the pre-packed food,” said Jersey Royal
So Bob the Truck got out of the basket and onto the floor
“Yes, I’ve heard about that and would like to come I’ll give you a lift, jump on the back” said Bob Truck
King Edward and Jersey Royal climbed up into the back of Bob’s Truck.
As they drove down to the end of aisle 1 a Banana jumped out in front of them
“Stop!” It was Mrs Banana, who was very thin and very yellow. She was always smiling and always right. But she was not smiling this time.
“What’s the matter Mrs Banana?” asked Bob Truck looking surprised
“You’ve got no lights on and it’s dark and you’re not wearing seats belts and just call me Mrs Safety!” she said in her strong voice.
“Well, we are in a hurry Mrs Safety,” said King Edward and Bob the Truck
“That’s no reason not to have lights on your truck, and it is for your own safety and you should know the safety rules.” she said looking at Bob crossly
“At the back of the truck they don’t have seat belts,” replied Bob
“Well, they should not be on the back. It would not be nice if you skidded on any thing on the floor, like a Banana skin. You pull up quickly and they could fall out of the truck and on to the floor and badly hurt themselves,” said Mrs Safety
“Yes, she right,” Jersey Royal said nodding and agreeing with her
“Well, if there are no seat belts we have to get off, OK?” King Edward said
“You should not have got on to the truck in the first place, You should been know better” Mrs Safety said
So King Edward and Jersey Royal got off the back of Bob’s Truck with their heads down knowing that they should not have not got into any vehicle without a seat belts
“We have only got to go a little bit further, are you coming with us Mrs Safety?”
“Yes, if that is all right,” she replied
So Mrs Safety, King Edward, Jersey Royal and Bob truck headed off towards the
pre-packed food. As they got to aisle 3 Jersey Royal looked up, then looked at King Edward and pointed up and said.
“That poster says pre packed food is on the top self”
“Well we will all have to climb up,” said King Edward

About the Book
Two best friends, King Edward and Jersey Royal, went around Mr. Jeffries’ Magic Supermarket every night when it was closed, looking for great adventures and learning a lot on the way.
They asked lots of questions but people did not always know the answers so they had to look around and read the notices and work things out for themselves.
On their journey they meet lots of old friends and made many new ones.
Through their experiences and adventures they come to learn the ways of the world.
About the Author
On leaving school, I enrolled in a government Youth Training Scheme and was sent to work in an office for two weeks. Whilst there, the company decided to take me on to work for them. A number of years later, they relocated out of
I took a job in a supermarket, which was a great success. When it closed, to open elsewhere as a larger shop, I moved with it, but found I missed all my friends at the old location.
I decided to leave the supermarket and went to work at one of
I joined the Anna Scher Theatre where I study acting in my spare time.
I became interested in writing children’s stories mainly to amuse my nieces and nephews.
With great support from family and friends (especially Olga) I started to write these short stories.
