About the Book

High-pressure situations; your heart beats faster, your eyes stop blinking, and everything moves in slow motion.  The mind is so focused you don’t think, you just react.  Whether it be on or off the football field; Toby Xavier and his team will take you to the heart of these challenges.  Toby is put to the test, as the young man learns of love and questions life for the first time.  Four tragedies will bring the Blue Boys inches from losing the dreams they set out to accomplish.  Can Toby overcome these obstacles, or will he look to take the easy way out.  His life and his team are depending on him.  This football season is sure to change the Blue Boys forever.

"John Weier has created a story that will appeal to readers, especially young men.  Vivid storylines and memorable characters with enough surprises to keep a reader turning the pages.  Life is always about choices and Toby Xavier and his close friends take you to the core of this process..." J. Andy Murphy, WriteStuff Writers

About the Author

John Paul Weier, the youngest son of eight children, was born in Glendale, Arizona in 1981. At the age of thirteen, his family relocated to Sterling, Illinois, where he attended Newman Central Catholic High School.  He was named the most improved lineman his senior year and was part of the 1998 IHSA Football Class 1A State Runner-up team.  While attending Sauk Valley Community College and balancing two jobs, he soon found himself dreaming of being a writer but did not have the time or resources to pursue it.  After losing both of his jobs in the span of one week, he decided to devote his spare time to writing.  His writing skills quickly developed, yet all the outlets he pursued in order to advance his writing career rejected him.  Frustrated and ready to give up on his dreams, he received a phone call informing him he took 3rd Prize out of over 500 submissions in the WriteStuff Writers national writing contest.  John Paul Weier hopes this will allow him to make a positive impact through his writing.
