“It’s a damn shame, ain’t it?” Pastor Jetson exclaimed as he passed Alison his phone number on a folded up piece of paper that he tore off of the deceased person’s program while riding to the cemetary.
Alison almost fell into the huge hole in the ground that the casket was being placed in by the heavy equipment used in that cemetery. She looked at the Pastor as he handed her the paper and she had no idea what the note could possibly say. When she opened it and saw his phone number she was flabbergasted! She looked around to see if anyone saw him pass that paper to her and it seems that many did notice. As a matter of fact, many noticed him looking at her well before Alison caught on.
She had never seen a burial like this before and it seems that almost nobody there expected that beautiful casket to be placed in that unmarked, community grave. It seemed that somehow no matter where Alison stood, Pastor Jetson was near by and when that crane pulled up to the burial site, he leaned over her shoulder from behind and whispered to Alison that it was a damn shame the family had spent so much on the casket and the beautiful programs, only to throw their mother in that community hole.
