About the Book

These delightful stories present Cleo the cow, Dusty the prairie dog, and more than a dozen other animals of the ranch and prairie. Told mostly in the first person, these narratives entertain as they educate young readers about the animals' lives and life on the prairie. About the Author

As the wife of a Wyoming rancher, MILLIE B. GOOD acquired a wide and intimate knowledge of ranch life, ranch animals, and wild animals of the prairie. Her varied career included work as a fashion decorator, merchandise promoter, art teacher, and critic. She helped develop the first electric blanket, was one of the first to taste oleomargarine, and worked with General Electric engineers to perfect the space suit.

She formerly lived in Wyoming. The Prairie Kingdom of the West was her first collection of stories for the young and young at heart.

ROGER W. PARKER was born June 13, 1936, in Fall River, Mass.  A long time resident of Nashua, NH, he has worked for the City of Nashua for the last forty-two years, currently as a Traffic Technician, maintaining Traffic Signals.  Roger began his employment when he was just fifteen years old, and continued to do so out of both enjoyment and necessity!  The author’s spare time hobbies include reading.  This gave him the insight to became a writer.  He also collects stamps, baseball cards and football cards.  Roger’s favorite hobby is providing help and assistance to other people whenever possible.
