God commanded his creation into place. Did creation obey his commands? Are the sun and stars still shining and is the earth still hanging on nothing? The disciples were astonished when Jesus rebuked the wind and the sea in Mark 4:39. They looked at each other in amazement that the wind and the sea obeyed him! In Ezekiel 36:6-8, we find God actually apologizing to the mountains, to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys because they bore the shame of the bloodshed of the nations. What a God!
And yet man, whom God loves with a fervent passion, was created with the freedom to make his own choices, including obedience to God. Why? Because there is no glory in a relationship without choice. God is most glorified when he’s glorified in us! When God truly satisfies your every need, you are whole, and God is glorified!

My life’s journey from desperation to abundance has provided great insight into the marvelous and mysterious power of prayer.
I am a sinner saved by grace. And like many, I’ve been broken, abused and crushed. I’ve sold my only watch to buy food for my son. I’ve experienced that diet of one good meal every three days, and endured months in a dingy, odor-filled basement.
It’s called ‘sheep school’ and I’m blessed to have experienced brokenness. While alone on the hilly-side of my life, my Shepard molded my will to his own. He continues to teach me to walk at his side and raise little sheep of my own.
