Introduction
These books are designed to efficiently present a method for anyone to quickly and easily become significantly more efficient. I find huge, cumbersome treatises on the subject to be very humorous paradoxes. I am sure that is because many feel that expert advice books need to be impressively large. The heavier and more voluminous the book, the more authoritative it must be. Shouldn’t a book on efficiency be an example of efficiency also? With tongue in cheek, I have divided the book into three volumes to at least partially quench the desire for voluminousness. If you need more weight, you may strap it to some bricks and carry it around in the back of your pickup truck.
You have just read Volume I. It is designed to be the most efficient book on efficiency. It is for the super geniuses who can take simple concepts and do a lot with them. It is also for both those who never get far into anything that they read and the dyslexic. Use the first volume’s concepts every day and you will be more efficient. My goal is for everyone who reads this book or just this part of it to be able to benefit from it.
For everyone who needs a little more explanation and help on becoming more efficient, the next two most efficient books on efficiency follow. Volume II is the second most efficient book on efficiency. It is an easy to follow outline of the important points and illustrations that one can easily use. Volume III allows for even a little more explanation of the important points. Volumes II and III are placed next to each other, side by side. Volume II is on the even pages and III on the odd. Each key point in Volume II is explained directly across from it in Volume III.
Why did I do this? This allows for the efficient location of the key points and their explanations, of course!
Definitions: All of the principles described here can be applied to just about any service, job, task, procedure, manufacturing of a product, patient treatment, patient care, chore, or mission. Therefore, these terms are interchangeable for the presentation of these principles. If one term does not make sense for what you are doing, just substitute the one that does.
Throughout this book, the words team, group, health care team, and business are also interchangeable. Similarly client, customer, and patient can be interchanged.

About the Author
Dr. Duane C. Baker was cited the United States Air Force Meritorious Service Medal for improving operating room efficiency 85% during his service to his country. He is also a national and international lecturer on Emergency Room and Operating Room Efficiency. In his Multiple Chief of Anesthesia and Medical Staff positions Dr. Baker has implemented the efficiency improving techniques revealed in this book and has repeatedly produced significant effective results in operating room suites across the country.
