The 10 Dangerous Possessions

Introduction

Consider this account shared with me by a friend. A female prayer leader of a local Church where he went to preach, told him during the after service chitchat “Man of God I don’t believe God answers prayers.”

He was shocked beyond words. But on cross-examination he discovered that the sister had spoken from deep-rooted bitterness from her heart. She was bitter against God. She had been praying for a life partner since nineteen, and now over forty with no engagement not to talk of marriage, all hope was lost. She needed to vent her anger on someone, and surprisingly God was her choice.

The above scenario is a clear case of frustration, lost hope, shattered dreams, with corresponding shattered foundations because “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick…” (Prov. 13:12).  This gives us a picture of one of the many experiences and consequent reactions of some Christians in this end time.

Many people have continued to wonder why our prayers are not answered in spite of our continuous cries. If this is your situation, you are not alone we all go through it, and even David the man after God’s heart went through several lamentations over his own soul. He found peace with God, not bitterness, in the midst of his troubles and he always encouraged himself in the Lord.

But why is the present situation a stormy one, you may ask? While, the answer may not be fully proffered, however, this much is known and that is the fact that the Lord had warned us about the end time war against his church. He reassured us in the same vein that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Mat 16:18). 

Satanic War against the Church

It is very obvious that Satan has unleashed with deadly precision a spiritual nuclear attack on the Church. This sophisticated onslaught bears a high degree of proficient wickedness that has defied logical explanations. The kind of things that happen to us ought not to have been mentioned among Christians. Yet these have become common day thing, in spite of our being actively fortified spiritually against the forces of darkness.

God has blessed His Church with gifts to his body as we see revealed in Ephesians 4:11. These gifts have continued to give us deeper insights and fruitful revelations on how to deal with the kingdom of darkness. Many believers have followed their teachings with diligence, but because they have not confronted the foundational issues of their lives, they have not been able to maintain consistent deliverance. While we eat at the table of the Lord, it will not be acceptable to have fellowship with the world at the same time. A choice has to be made in order to enjoy breakthrough.
