Closer, the others surrounded my brothers to start pounding on them, but all of a sudden, we heard a growl. It wasn’t a huge growl, but just loud enough to know that it was a dog. “Oh my God!” I heard someone in the gang yell as my face was being pushed up against the rough, old wood of the shed. “What is that?” We all looked down, and out from behind my brothers and me appeared the meanest and ugliest and most ferocious growling, snarling, spitting, sputtering, teeth gnashing, tongue licking little fuzz ball in the whole wide world! Danny Haxtel loosened his grip on me, “Back boys…real slow. It’s a mad dog.” Baby Andy Sudock, with a crying sound of terror, whispered, “He’s got rabies. Look at that foaming mouth…!” “Grrrr…mmmm, spit, spit, grrrr,(stagger, stagger) sputter, spit, gag, grrrr…cough!” The little fuzz ball showed his firmness and his intent to attack as foaming slobbering shampoo dripped and drooled from his mouth. The gang, the most feared gang of Danny Hatchet Butt, went running and screaming down the alley, running for their lives. Infantile Andy Sudock looked back as he stumbled over a trash can. His cries of pain and fear were music to our ears as he struggled back to his feet. Poor Andy begged the others to wait for him, but his pleas fell on deaf ears, ears escaping with trembling bodies attached to them. What a mouthy little jerk. The three of us had thought about running after him because he deserved to be stuffed into a half-full, smelly trash can. But my brothers started to scream as I reached down and picked up the little fuzz ball of static electricity that had a hydrophobic drooling mouth, yet the odor of shampoo breath. “I told you not to eat that shampoo, Dummy,” I warned the little mutt as he licked at my face.

About the Book
Fuzzy, the Treasure Hound is about a poor boy who finds a stray dog. After giving the little dog a bath, the adventures and humor begin and don't let up until the end of the book. If someone likes dogs, treasures, adventure, dealing with bullies (and winning) and having humorous encounters with girls, then this book will be appealing to young and old alike. *This book is also Colten Offley approved. Colten Offley was a rather reluctant reader...until he picked up this book and gave it a chance.
About the Author
I grew up in a small town in central Wyoming (Jeffrey City) and enjoyed the experience of the small mining town. We were poor, but as kids, we didn't know it until someone told us later. I guess we were too busy having fun.
My wife Deion and I have been happily married for thirty-three years. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter Danae Deines lives in Cody with her husband Jeff and our granddaughter Anastasia. Our son Tim is attending the University of Wyoming.
