About the Book

Short poems for long days has been in the making for several years. Within the book you'll find 44 original poems chosen from over 80. Written between 2001 and march of this year. Covering what is intended to be an interesting, thought provoking, understandable and comforting look at the lives we lead. The poems are in 4 sections covering topics such as our search for meaning, thoughts on time, friends and people. Then finally places, I hope my "ode to bed" will make you smile and among other things theres a reflective look at 7/7. As you open the book you will find the left hand side page left blank apart from neat corner borders and every so often a fitting small illustration, drawn by my own fair hand. I hope you will use this space to write some of your own thoughts and memories. Finally the opening pages will offer my dedication, a few things about myself and a forward.

About the Author

Ian Piercy was born in the county of Durham in the spring of 1962. He soon fell in love with the expressive power found in words. Thus leading to his journey in personal writing then on to poetry, which has so far taken him from childhood to his mid forties.

Apart from sending early poetic efforts in valentine cards, hoarding and losing earlier writing. This will be his first published work. He presently lives on Richmond hill in Surrey and makes a living as a psychiatric nurse.
