General Sherman’s Tree
Gigantic towers seek the sky swaying gently by heavenly breeze challenging all sense of measurement stand the vast grove of Mariposa where perfection is alone in splendid array. Portal of life both beginning and ending in circles of evaluated life cycles most blessed and aged of time greet the beholden, amazed eyes of each traveling seeker of life.
Crowned king stands magnificently above its peers, one known as General Sherman’s tree, demands respect by its sheer size alone. Towering so very high it stands upon a most magnificent base of over one hundred feet circumference. Limbs on this tree were larger than anything that ever beckoned my visage. Perhaps God chose to start this tree growing when his son was born to earth as a marker for all to see.
Heading towards three centuries feet tall, it still grows and clings to life. I cannot stand in its colossal shadow without being reminded to give thanks to the Master Creator of all. Who could birth such wondrous sights? Who could give man such an impressive theater like setting other than the Almighty Lord?
Each time I visit this scene I wonder if I will live long enough to see its splendor one more time. No matter how long I spend dwarfed in its image my heart speaks softly to me of times gone by inciting meditation to my brow while giving thanks for life throughout ages. Both honored and humbled as insignificance is truly understood when looking with amazement each and every second spent with this king of the forest.
To you my most favored tree I give honor for the life you breathe into my mind and for the God of whom you so proudly stand. Recognition is the order of my heart as it warms itself in your basking glory so high in the mountains of sign bringing perspective to fleeting glimpses of such caring love did God so auspiciously grant me yet another view of his perfected creation.
Stand proud my king, grow tall and wide above and beyond everything. Monument yourself a living testimony to God; be seen for millenniums to come providing life’s secret to those who would stand and ponder earnestly in your presence. May the light of day shine brightly upon you and may the dewy fog that cloaks your barkened exterior bring peace and moisture of life to you. Might the wind gently rock you to sleep at night and awake you for the dawn of another day. May the blessed experience that stirs my soul be shared with countless others that they too might recognize the redeeming nature of your Master’s artistic design.

About the Book
These poems and the scriptures that inspired them are a collection of works written to provide both inspiration and direction for a vast myriad of life occasions. It is my most fond hope that you will enjoy and use them for what ever purpose you choose: journaling, meditation, inspiration and simply the settling of your soul.
My prayer is that you will be blessed in the midst of the storm and refreshed through disquieting experiences. The many scriptures listed have been especially helpful to me during my lifetime and I am sure they are already some of your favorites.

Comfort in Distress: Peace returns as the Son does shine through to all mankind. Once again hope turns faith to completeness amidst the stormy skies. Each dark cloud helps fill the void as faith takes its course growing to perfect love. Expressions of joy now fill the emptiness left behind in wake of the hurricane's demise as the tears now flow this time indicating the kindest love received from the Master above gently sweeps over my soul. Patience, the virtue is but learned after such agony overcome.
Autumn: Rustling leaves crackle as the tumble to the ground; they make a crashing, crunching, thrashing sort of sound. Biting, blustering winds burnish natural blush-tones upon the many exposed faces. Dazzling arrays of rustic, coronation colors majestically display themselves. Sweet aromas cleave to the adjacent airwaves occasionally spilling out enticingly appealing odors. Sensory perceptions are frantically tweaked to frantically intense levels. It is harvest time; it is fall.
Wisdom: Wisdom is an in-depth, divinely inspired insight in to an other wise unknown perception. Wisdom defies definition: it stands immeasurable, limitless and most assuredly without ownership. Wisdom appears to be a gift readily obtainable, never unavailable and mostly left unfulfilled.
