It seems like yesterday,

It all came straight from the heart,

That smile just grew inside me,

You had me from the start girl.

But something happened that week,

Something wasn’t right,

It was like,

You had it backwards and no one could see it coming,

Like a bullet in the night,

The shockwave hit so hard,

Knees grow weak as the words hit my head like a hammer.

It’s a rumor, there’s no way this was true,

It was perfect yesterday,

How come it all went wrong?

If I could’ve seen it coming,

I would’ve jumped in front to save you,

Is it my fault that I can’t walk right now?

Can this happen so fast it stops me from breathing,

Questions and questions and searching for a helping hand,

Just like you did and you never found that luck,

I’m sorry I couldn’t save you,

I couldn’t see it in front of me I’m sorry.

The tears come raining down,

Gasping for air so I can put my thoughts together,

You left this world so young and it’s not your fault you’re not here,

Why it seems so fake,

I can’t say,

I wanted to save you, wanted to dust off your knees,

But I’m too late now I’m left in the wake,

Of my mistake for not opening my eyes.

The rainbows you told me you’d keep painting,

Every time there is one I can’t hold it down,

That tear I shed for you comes rolling down,

I want you to keep painting those for me,

Keep using your imagination to make me smile,

I know you can hear this cry from these words I keep choking on,

Please send me a message everything will be ok,

Please help me I need to know why.

You left me and I can never settle for what happened that day,

You loved those crazy colors and never a dull moment,

We all miss you and I pray to you tonight,

Pray you will be there for me and ease this pain you left us to see,
