About the Author

About the Editor and NavWorks Press:

David E. Navarro is a minister, writer, poet, speaker, and editor, born in Newport, RI. He grew up in inner city Chicago and northern Indiana until college at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. His love of poetry and the writing arts began at age eight and in 1980 he became a published poet in The Purdue Exponent. Over 40 of his poems have been published in various magazines, literary journals and anthologies, including the chap book, Such Are the Poems. In 2006, he and his wife and three children moved to Tuscaloosa, AL, where he started NavWorks Press.

NavWorks finds its earliest roots in 1995 when David began using the name on his written work and art. In 1996 he established the name with an email account, and in 2004 secured the domain name NavWorks.org for his Writing and Editing web page. In 2006 NavWorks Services was established as the overall name with the following divisions: NavWorks Press, NavWorks Writing and Editing, and NavWorks Seminars.

NavWorks Press initiated the annual Pride in Poetry Prize in early 2007 as a way to support their mission and motto: "Promoting poetry and the writing arts." They also host the Cozy Word Café at www.cozyword.com.
