The Anniversary of a Tragedy

Dedicated to those lost in the
September 11 attacks.
In one year,
Our family has lost a member,
And I have gained a sister,
We have lost one dog,
And found another.
A friend has lost a mother,
But gained a nephew,
Another has come home from Peru,
And moved to Illinois.
I have traveled into the Big Apple,
And Been visited 3 times,
By my relatively new friend,
From New York, Manhattan, Queens.
The globe has spun 365 times,
Traveled around the sun once,
Bringing Winter, Spring,
Summer, and now Fall.
The World Cup and The Olympics,
The Stanley Cup, Superbowl,
PGA, and Baseball seasons,
Have all commenced,
Many have completed,
And are ready to restart.
I personally have lost a job
But gained employment,
Sold a Saturn, and Bought a Ford,
Written a book, and published a web
page.
I have met people of all sorts,
From the users, to the pushers,
And Every Manner In-Between,
And those who’ve somehow managed to
avoid it all.
I have composed my treatise on peace.
When we do remember the dead,
Let us not forget,
That they have not only departed from
this earth,
But from the living,
Breathing,
Artists, Scientists, Doctors,
Lawyers, Firemen, Teachers,
Police, Armed Forces, Poets,
And Actors,
Who will carry on their hopes,
And dreams,
In the works of their hands,
And minds,
Each year from now,
Until the history books,
Of all living memory,
Are closed.

About the Book
Dancing over the Fury is the second poetry collection by Christopher J. Bradley. Chris spent a lot of time in Buffalo between 2000 and 2003 thinking about the effects of the the media, the impending war, and the things that are most important. Dancing Over The Fury is a reflection of that. The unstated premise is that we have the ability to live on in spite of the fact that there is a Fury raging all around us. In writing this book, he thought of all of the people around him in the immediate, rather than the past, and tried to put the best lights he could to all of them. Much of Dancing Over The Fury was composed on paper in a cafe, and then transferred to the computer. A technique Chris has found particularly helpful in developing his work. Computers are reliable, but a pen and paper is always faster to work with. Not to mention that hauling a laptop around can be burdensome to creativity. Dancing Over The Fury is an experiment in the human condition, in the late night Cafe's of Buffalo New York...
About the Author
Christopher J. Bradley has written 5 books of poetry. At this time, the
publication of the second is in progress. American Mohawk and Dancing
Over The Fury, the first two, will both be available for sale by
October 12, 2007.

which is like an open magazine rack containing links to several
magazines and transport hubs and rental car companies. It also contains
his sixth major poetry book (a work in progress) titled 30 Year Winter
and a Shakespeare Sonnet Project (another work in progress). Chris has
not given up writing in favor of computing, rather he has augmented his
writing by making it more available through use of computers.
