Little Lizzy 2 Shoes is a delightful rhythmic poem about a whimsical young girl that loves shoes. She has shoes for dancing and climbing, shoes for hiking and biking, furry moo shoes and stepping in poo shoes. Little Lizzy 2 Shoes has red shoes and yellow shoes, shopping at the Mall shoes and staying in the house shoes.

The strong rhythm and lyrical format of this light hearted book is fun and magical in its simple child-like approach, similar to the Dr. Seuss books in its rhyming and repeating verse. The frequently asked question “whose shoes”, brings gales of laughter as children of all ages respond with “ Little Lizzy 2 Shoes.”

Little Lizzy 2 Shoes has red hair pulled into crunchies on either side of her head. She has big green eyes and freckles and is about to lose her very first tooth.The charming, child-like watercolour illustrations depict Little Lizzy wearing a multitude of wonderfully colourful shoes. There are pictures of shoes bouncing, skipping and prancing through the pages as Little Lizzy shows off her various new shoes.

Cynthia Newans is a Graphic Artist who has successfully created the delightful character of Little Lizzy 2 Shoes wearing all her glorious new shoes. As a Bonus there are several “mini moments” in the every-day life of Little Lizzy. These short stories depict Little  Lizzy having daily experiences with her family and friends. She has a tiny dog called Itsy-Bitsy, a cat named Phoebe as well as her very best friend whose name is Sky.Little Lizzy 2 Shoes will bounce into your heart and you will want to run out and buy  some new shoes too!

About the Author

Cynthia grew up in various small farming towns of northern Ontario. A quiet and withdrawn child she spent her time reading and drawing. In the mid fifty’s she watched a television program by an artist named John Nagy and for Christmas that year received his home Drawing Course. It was her first foray into the art world. Cynthia won an art scholarship in public school, creating a childhood dream of one day becoming a famous artist.

But life took over and it wasn’t until she was in her forty’s after raising her two boys that she was able to pursue that dream. Art school won her two more scholarships as she excelled at both visual and graphic art. Cynthia became a Graphic Artist who loves to draw pencil illustrations of children. She lives with her husband Robert and an heirloom cat named Phoebe, in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Cynthia has designed and implemented several drawing courses and has been teaching drawing skills to adults and children alike for several years. Raising her two boys and having two grandchildren, she realizes how important and fun reading delightful stories to children are. Little Lizzy 2 Shoes was inspired by her friend Liz Alex, whose mom’s childhood pet name for her was “2 Shoes.” Cynthia loved the imagery and being an artist soon created a visual in her mind and it wasn’t long before different shoes were dancing around. Thus Little Lizzy 2 Shoes was born. Cynthia has combined her love of reading and drawing to write this delightful children’s book.
