About the Book

The Three Door Dodge opens high up in a lookout tree where boys often were perched to look out at the neighborhood, looking for pleasing adventure.  The time was 1944 with America embroiled in World War Two.  Although fiction, some characters in the story are based upon real people and what those characters actually did.  One of the AKA characters is T. F. Platt.

Despite one of the characters being T. F. Platt, the story should be regarded as fiction set into real history.  As in all of the Jericho books, the narrative was written in honor of the author’s grandfather, Clarence Groner, and the author’s mother, Edith Marie Groner Platt.  The geography used in the books is similar to that of the community in Michigan where Clarence Groner and Edith Marie Groner Platt and T. F. Platt, and others of the Groner and Platt families, resided through much of their lives.  Clarence and Edith for a time lived on a road called Jericho Road and Clarence worked briefly in a paper mill nearby.

The Three Door Dodge is the seventh of the Jericho Books by T. F. Platt.  The Jericho stories are intended for adults and young adults.

Author and family reside in southern Michigan, some one hundred fifty miles from the site of his Jericho stories.  They have four grown wonderful children and four marvelous grand children all of whom serve as inspiration for the writer.

The tales do not include explicit sex and they omit profanity.

His column like his books feature adventure, romance, humor, suspense, tragedy, and triumph, all with religion and the Golden Rule built in.

About the Author

T. F. Platt writes the Jericho Books and a weekly column titled The Jubilant Professor, writing wholesome stories about folks one would enjoy having as neighbors.

The idea for the Jericho series of books occurred in 1975 when he visited his mother at her retirement complex.  Nearby was an iron bridge that in the author’s mind became Lead Bridge and a walk around the area soon identified other prominent features of the Jericho stories.  During his youth Mr. Platt enjoyed tramping the miles of forest and streams in his neighborhood, much as roamed American Indians of an earlier time.

Author and Helen presently reside in southern Michigan where they recreate around two ponds, many trees, lots of birds and other wildlife, and many leafy lanes that his children, grandchildren, and friends ply by bike, foot, or golf cart.  Their four grown wonderful children and four marvelous grand children continually serve as inspiration for the writer.

His first publisher said, “I believe you are a great writer, and Jericho is a great book.”  He enjoys similar accolades on each of his writings.  Mr. Platt enjoys the Little House and the Anne of Green Gables books and TV treatment of them.  He enjoys watching Gun Smoke.  His stories try to match the interest, excitement, and quality of those great works.

The Jericho stories do not include explicit sex and they omit profanity.
