Blindness

If you are thrown a curve ball

That doesn’t mean that you are out of the game

My curve ball was when I became blind

Because it was just thrown my way

But I continued to stay in the game and play

I didn’t do it their way

Only when I became blind

Did I get the true meaning of what it is to cheat

I’m blind, and most people do not like to be beat

Being blind taught me to always be alert

Whether it is talking about or stolen from you

Some people don’t care who they hurt

There have been nights that I felt lower than dirt

It does not seem to matter to me what gets thrown my way

I always knock it out of the park

I wish everybody could feel what it’s like to be in the dark
