Remembering the Day
As I sat in my truck
The blow was struck
Upon the towers two.
My heart it broke
As the fire and smoke
Billowed through the sky of blue.
I sat in awe at the sight I saw
And I knew that many did die.
The fire was great
From a man full of hate
And I knew the death toll was high.
I saw two buildings standing there
Shells of what they used to be.
Smoke all around
Debris on the ground
And victims people no different than me.
Did they know or have a clue
That today would be the end?
When they kissed their spouse and said goodbye
Did they say, “I’ll see you again?”
Two huge icons,
Symbols of strength, power, and intelligence
How fast they did fall
How weak they became
In the wake of this tragic event.
In the land of the free
Live you and me
But the enemy came right in.
What do we do?
Where do we turn?
The answer lies within.
Turn to the Lord
He is still in control.
Let Christ be your guide
For in the fear

About the Author
I was born Dec. 12, 1971, in a town called Ridgeway, WI. I am number six of seven children. My father was a minister and my mother was a homemaker. When I was three we moved to a farm where we lived until I was almost ten. From there we moved to Hannibal, MO. Almost three years later we moved to Harrisburg, Pa., where I reside to this day.
