About the Book
Televised wrestling in Britain ran from 1955 until 1988. At its height in the 1960's it attracted over 14 million viewers. Why then was it taken off our screens in 1988 at a time when American wrestling was just capturing the public imagination? Ever wondered what those Wrestlers who appeared on Television every week were really like? How did they come by their favorite holds? Who was the clown prince? Were the bad guys always as bad as they appeared in the ring? Did wrestlers really get hurt and of course the Million dollar question -is it fixed? All these questions and more are answered in a frank and uncompromising story.
