TONY:

I agree. Man, this mud is thick and hard to take off.

(He starts cleaning off part of his legs. They both hear excited voices coming through the CB on the police band.)

Wait! Shh, be quiet. I hear something over the radio. It's Ellie. She's on dispatch. She normally doesn't get excited. Listen to her voice.

(Rick pauses to listen. They both turn towards the radio to hear what's going on.)

DISPATCH: (V.O.) (frantic female voice) Control to Y-6. 10-63. I have a 911 call from Frank Howard Hospital in Willets. I have a call from a medical social worker. She's telling me that a baby has been abducted by white female, blond hair, wearing glasses. Approximate age 25-30 years old, 5'9", wearing a nurse's uniform. Time of occurrence is 5 or 10 minutes ago. Contact the medical social worker at the main lobby. She's your contact. She will be waiting for you along with some other nurses. Her name is Kathy McGill. Repeat. The name is Kathy McGill. This is a Code 3 clearance code.

 The radio goes off. Another male voice comes on.

DISPATCH:

(V.O.) I advise additional units for back-up on a Code 3. l-Y-6, 10-4 control.

Transmission goes on and there's more talk between other units within the area. The dispatch calls to other units.

l-Y-3, what's your 10-20?

MALE VOICE:

(V.O.) I'm at a gas station at the corner of 1lth and Cars. 10-26 at location, seven minutes on Code 3.

l-Y-7 (V.O.)

I just pulled out of a 7-11 gas station, 10:26. Five minutes to Code 3.

DISPATCH: (V.O.)

Possible 209 has occurred with one of the patients. A woman has taken a child from the ward. A social worker will meet with you at the lobby for instructions.

l-Y-3 acknowledges, en route to scene and transmits.

l-Y-3 (V.O.)

I'll meet with the social worker. l-Y-6 will also meet with you there.

Additional units start responding on Code 3. Tony and Rick look at each other in a bit of a shock.

TONY:

That was Kathy McGill. That's where she's working. They have a baby abduction.  It must be serious. I'm gonna respond to the call.

RICK:

I'll go, too. Wait, there might be some more information coming through.

DISPATCH: (V.O.)

l-D-3, what's the status of your last call?

(Rick goes over to the van. Tony follows behind. Rick responds to the call using the van radio as Tony listens on.)

RICK:

This is l-D-3. I just finished up over here at the scene of the floating body. What are your instructions, dispatch?

DISPATCH: (V.O.)

We need a possible D3 out there for further investigations. Four other units have responded and more are responding regarding the child abduction. Copy that?

RICK:

l-D-3 responds. I'll approach on a Code 3 clearance. Oh, by the way, I have 1-L-l here with me. Just finished up. Can we Code 3 him a possible scene investigations?
