About the Book

Delores Jenkins Garland, retired English/theater teacher has been writing and

producing plays for more than twenty years. Never before has she felt the need to

publish her works than now. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Garland

became more sensitive to human conditions as they were reflected in the lives of many

of the students she taught at Bonds-Wilson High School in North Charleston, South

Carolina; Thirty- Third Avenue High School in Gulfport, Mississippi; and Armstrong

High School in Richmond, Virginia. She believes that the family is divinely inspired

and is the most important social organization known to man. Therefore, her plays

focus on the family and many of the social issues that can either unify or bring about

its distruction. Her subjects are contemporary; her characters are real and believable;

and her objective? Family Unity. Her plays are very entertaining, not preachy; and

her messages are always clear. Rape, incest, prostitution, divorce, aids, and breast

cancer, are just a few of her themes. A true twenty-first century playwright.
