foremost scholars of South and Southeast Asian Art at that time, Dr. Stella Kramrisch of the Boston Museum and the New York Institute of Fine Art, and Dr. Benjamin Rowland, Jr., of Harvard University. “Dr. John” served as Associate Professor of Art History and Aesthetics at Western Kentucky University and now is an adjunct at Jacksonville Community College in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to scholarly interests, he has served as a social worker and as a poet. His other concerns have included growing orchids, collecting gems, stamps, and antiques, especially both Nippon and pre-Nippon wares. This book is the second he’s written in not quite three years of “retirement.” He plans on having two web sites: the first of which will be a “.com” of the same name as this book for the acquisition of it and allied materials (CDs); and the second site as “DrHJohn” for personal correspondence, metaphysical and poetic concerns (pen name of “Danu”).
