About the Book

Inside "Poodlums, Boogeymen and Booglers," A big sister convinces her little brother that a boogeyman lives under the bed. She also tells him that there are monsters living in the closet.

He knows for sure that the "Booglers" will come in the house if the doors are not locked at night. At another time, he sees "Poodlums" in the empty house down the street and runs home to tell his mother. She never did figure out what a "Poodlum" was. This little boy’s inquisitive nature later gets him in trouble with an electric fence and his determination, to do what he’s told, causes him to get dragged across an open field by a hunting dog. Within the pages of this book are many family-inspired poems. Every family has stories to tell. Some can be very humorous, while others, will break your heart.

Sometimes we just need to laugh at ourselves. Some of the problems we encounter becoming a senior citizen we can’t change, so we might as well make the best of it. People tend to be very forgiving of us seniors. They don’t realize we do some of what we do because we know we can get away with it. Our wonderful second childhood! "Huh" and "Poor Thing," proves there is humor in getting old.

Has there ever been something you wanted while you were little and didn’t find it under your tree at Christmas? Was there ever something you wanted to accomplish and just couldn’t get it done? "The Doll" or "Ice Dancer"might be the poems that you will identify with. You’re sure to find something that will touch your soul, lighten your heart, or cause the hair to raise on the back of your neck.
