Pumpkin the Angel Cat

      When Pumpkin awoke he was standing next to a large dog.  He began to hiss, but the dog said, “Easy little fellow, I’m not going to hurt you.  I’m here for the same reason you are.”  And then he walked away. 

      As Pumpkin looked around, he saw hundreds of animals.  Zebras and giraffes, lions and bears, dogs, cats and mice, birds and rabbits, all talking and walking with each other and not fighting.  As he began to walk among the animals, a wise old owl looked down at him and said, “Hello, Pumpkin.  How was your journey?” 

            “My journey?  Where am I?” asked Pumpkin. 

            “Your journey here, to the Hall of Animal Angels,” said the wise old owl.

            The little cat stopped and looked up, “What do you mean Hall of Animal Angels?” he questioned. 

“My dear little kitty,” replied the old owl.  “This is the place where all good animals go when they leave earth, the place where we receive our glorious mission.”

            “You mean, I’m…,” asked Pumpkin. 

            “Well, of course you are.  We all are,” replied the wise old owl. 

      Looking around, Pumpkin noticed many of the animals had large wings, even the ones that weren’t supposed to - dogs with wings and sheep with wings and even elephants with wings.  As he looked closer, he noticed many of the animals had rings around their heads.  “Are all these animals angels?” asked Pumpkin. 

            “Why, yes,” returned the owl.  “Each and every one of us was brought here to fulfill the plan God has made for us.”
