Butterflies in the Sky I ventured out beyond my window To see what there is to see As I walked along the city streets A beautiful sight was given to me In the air with no care or fear A group of butterflies floating effortlessly Higher and higher in the sky Their destiny unknown to me The design of their feathery wings Are forever etched in my mind As I watch them soar beyond my sight In the hands of someone kind What I saw did not disappoint my eyes It only made me thirst for more To want to greet another day To write in poetry to Christ our Lord |

An inspiration can come when you least expect it; a quick glimpse of a running stream, snow falling from the winter sky, the simplicity of a brand new day, or the sight of butterflies flying by.........

About the Author

Cindy has had several of her poems published in magazines and anthologies. She has been a member of The International Society of Poets since 2006, has received nominations for Poet of the Year, has numerous Editor's Choice Awards, Bronze Medallion Awards, Crystal Trophies for Outstanding Achievement. Also in 2006, she was one of 33 poets chosen to have their poems professionally read to music and put on a 3CD set and sold worldwide. She was also named Who's Who Among Poets in 2007. Cindy, along with her husband Mark and youngest daughter Sondra, resides in Medora, IL. Together they have five children and four grandchildren.
