Whispering of The Fall
There was a faint whispering
As I stood on the edge of reality
Wondering, to where might this lead?
Within myself I felt a gnawing,
An aching, an emptiness
That would soon demand to feed.
Time skipped, misery breathed;
In my mind, thoughts seethed.
Love bled a raging river of red;
Emotions fell, aching and dead.
Listen to the whispers
Near the edge of time.
Haunting are the screams
Within my mind.
There was a faint whispering
As I stood on the edge of eternity
Wondering, to where might I go?
Within myself I heard a screaming,
A begging, a pleading
That would soon demand to know.
Confusion flooded as my head swam ‘round;
Desire overwhelming as I eyed the ground.
I closed my eyes and let myself fall.
What I had been, was done,
Once and for all.

About the Author:
S.B. Lacroix began writing poetry at the age of fifteen. Her first poem was published in a local newspaper, as were subsequent poems she wrote.
She spent many years writing while working and raising four children. Writing is her first love and to writing she always returned when her busy life allowed her a few moments.
Now that her children are older, S.B. Lacroix devotes the majority of her time to writing. She plans future publications of poetry as well as a novel. She resides in New Hampshire with her husband and children.
