The Veggie Army came upon the town and the Sweet Soldiers. They were the first to start the battle by flinging peas from their peapod slingshots. The Candy Army fired their marshmallow cannons towards the Veggie Army!
The Veggie Army fired pumpkin cannons, covering the town in gooey pumpkin guts and seeds. The Candy Army tried trapping the Veggie solders in bubbles of thick, pink chewing gum… But the Veggie Soldiers were popping the bubbles with their asparagus spears and escaping.

About the Book
Candyland Forest is a place filled with candy flowers, lollipop trees, and sweet gingerbread townspeople. The neighboring forest, Veggieland Forest, is ruled by an evil, greedy king. King Milkman has his eyes set on Candyland Forest, and sends his Veggie Army there to take over the land! The Sweet Soldiers in Candyland Forest prepare themselves for war! About the Author
Writer and illustrator Sarah Zahorak is currently a student at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. She is pursuing an education in Psychology and English, and spends much of her time writing creatively. Candyland Forest is her first published children’s book, but is not the only children’s book she has written. Sarah hopes to continue writing for children as part of her future career, and delighting young children with her stories and illustrations.
