Lost and Found

On a homeward voyage he ran into a vicious horrendous storm and as he struggled to steer the ship through the boiling seas. He was convinced that the ship could sink under him and he found himself crying out “Lord have mercy upon us, have mercy”.  When the storm had subsided and the ship had not sunk he reflected upon his situation.  It came to him in his cabin that he had been saved by the grace of God.  Could the seed sown by his mother be germinating at last?  After this he gave up the sea and took a land job in Liverpool where he not only continued to think about God’s grace but also educated himself, learning about amongst other subjects Latin.
