There was a faint cry and whimper, followed by an angry voice. It didn’t sound like a happy kind of sound. She peered through the bracken to find two small humanlings huddled close together. “You can make a fine walking staff with a good stick,” the boy said confidently. And of course, good sticks were to be found in the wood. The boy had entered the wood first and the girl had followed behind him, just like the herd fillies and colts really thought Gwyngallion. But now the humanlings were lost. Gwyngallion remembered her sworn oath. She followed the humanlings as best as she could without frightening them. Fearing that the sound of Gwyngallion's hooves were that of a bear or a pack of wolves, the little ones fled deeper into Bracken Wild Wood. Gwyngallion sniffed the air for their scent and looked for broken branches or twigs where they had trod. She fell silent. “Listen for them, listen,” Gwyngallion's heart kept telling her. But she could hear nothing. Suddenly and with no warning, two little silhouettes appeared before her and two pairs of wide eyes looked straight at her in amazement.

About the Author
Angela Love began making up stories for her daughter Blaise-Lianne some 12 years ago and continues to do so to this day. An idyllic childhood on her grandparents’ farm and the close bond she experienced as a child with her siblings and extended family provided many shared childhood adventures and experiences. These adventures fired her colourful imagination and made writing stories for children her passion and her joy. The author's first book 'Orange Blossom Beginnings' was published in summer 2007 and brought the author great delight and acclaim.
