It is important to know that speaking “in tongues” is not the acid test for proof of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Consider what the bible says in Acts 4 verses 31 and 33. “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spake the word of God with boldness. Notice there will be a power to witness unto Jesus. Acts 1 verse 8 Jesus said to the disciples, “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me; ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acts, Chapter 8, and beginning at verse 13. Then Simon (the sorcerer) himself believed also; and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. (Verse 18): And when Simon saw that through laying on of the Apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, ....
But Peter said unto him, “Thy money perish with thee,... Beloved, what do you think about Simon, the sorcerer? Did he receive the Holy Ghost since he believed?

The same Greek word exousia is used in this verse which means that the believer now has the power or the right to become a son of God. That person cannot be denied that right because he has trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Some people are stuck in one place for too long. For the length of time that they have been saved, they should be teachers but instead they have to be taught the basic principles of the faith all over again.
