Farida Amin (born in
From an early age she had a passion for writing poetry in Bengali. After her
marriage she was busy with family and study so she had no time to follow her
ambition.
Now in the past year (2007-8) she has rediscovered her talents as a poet
after stumbling across the acclaimed site Poetry.com. Her first poem to be
submitted was ‘Excitement’ which was written on impulse. On December 2007
Poetry.com awarded her with the ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ from the Noble
House and presented her gold medallion of her distinction as a ‘Poet Fellow’.
She is now one of the best poet of 2007 and a Distinguished Member of the ISP
[International Society of Poetry]. In July 2008 she attended ISP Convention in

strikes. Some poems are emotional most are based on romance, love, religion and
true stories. Her poem ‘The Best Friend’ is now published in ‘The Best Poems
& Poets of 2007’ and is the first in the book.
