About the Book

To be honest this is my second book published through AuthorHouse. However, it is my first love of creativity within my mind. My family entertained themselves in many ways every Sunday afternoon. When I was young, we regularly had competitions between the five of us. All had talent by singing, dancing and recitals of plays or poetry. I myself followed Shakespeare sonnets, and a wide range of stage plays by the great writer.

So being who I am, over the years of my life, I wrote down the moments that I found amusing. To my surprise, I found over one hundred old notebooks. I am currently writing my first book, which I named Dragon Eye Chronicles. It gave me the confidence to select two hundred poems for your entertainment. Of course, I rewrote and updated them to fit today’s style of society that we all choose to follow or protest for a better life.

I split up the book in six volumes that cover a wide range of material. Each section covers a certain period in my life, growing up from a child, teenager, and adult, finding love, and losing one’s self with the outside influences.

Please enjoy with a little soft music, red wine and candle light to capture the small love poems that I wrote in my youth. I hope you enjoy them.

About the Author

I was the youngest of five children from a middle class family. In my early youth, I had a medical problem with my eyes. My mother would read me books of children’s fairy tales, during the year and a half after my operation. Over the years, I developed a natural gift of story telling and gathered groups of children to recite fairy tales that enthralled both the children and their parents.

I am the product of the late fifties that moved through the change in times from the Beatles, Neil Young and AC/DC. I listened to more music then this, but I am allowed only three hundred words to share my life’s interest with you.

Some of my poems were like ballads, especially the love notes in my black book. However, the girls would smirk by describing my voice sounded like Mickey Mouse, so I went to pen and wrote them down. I gave them with flowers or wrote them in friendship cards. I am influenced by politics and events throughout our world. I could have been a rocket scientist or a flower child. However, I went my own path, as is the way of many of us who ride the roller coaster of life

On special occasions, I would recite my poetry at the drop of a hat. Most were somber or funny with dry humour. Most were about the pursuit of dating girls during my younger years. I thought they were good and kept them over the years.

I can only hope that you will enjoy them. Here is a short poem I’ve seen a Friend.

Close your eyes, clear your mind, and just imagine.
