Pablo was singing his favorite song as he waddled along the rocky path. He was worried. Someone once told him to sing a tune and his troubles would go away…but Pablo's troubles didn't go. His feet were hot and tired. He was very thirsty, and most of all HE MISSED HIS FRIENDS!
"Why did I ever want to leave such a nice place?" He thought of his penguin friends, the fancy flamingos, and all the others back at the wildlife habitat.

About the Book
Mary has written numerous poems, but Pablo Penguin has warmed his way into first print. Hopefully he will warm his way into the hearts of many children and those that are children at heart! Pablo is an adventurous, Blackfoot penguin that often finds himself in some risky situations. His curiosity for adventure takes him to environments not always suited for a penguin. Thanks to his positive outlook on life however, and his willingness to accept help from good friends, he learns that there truly is "no place like home". Readers will discover that Antarctica is NOT the only place to find penguins. If exploring the desert with a flightless bird seems to be a most unusual and challenging adventure, why not come along for the journey and see for yourself how it all turns out? You may even learn some new facts about the flora and fauna of the desert floor. By the way, Pablo has made another visit. Stay tuned for Pablo Visits the Ocean coming soon!
About the Author
Mary ("Peggy") Wisham Fenstermacher was born and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey, a small town in Cumberland County. She enjoyed the childhood pleasures of living on a small farm complete with a barn full of laying hens, a black Cocker Spaniel and a Shetland pony. After graduating from high school, she attended Catawba College in Salisbury, N. C. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English at Kutztown State College (now University) in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Since her graduation from college she has been an elementary teacher in various public and private schools in Pennsylvania and Maine for over 20 years. She has taught every grade from pre-Kindergarten through eighth, Title I Literacy, special education and elementary classroom music. She home schooled each of her five children for several years. In 1986 Mary was accepted into the Institute of Children's Literature where she began her adventure in writing under the instruction of authors/instructors Blossom Budney Tresselt and Ron Roy. Mary currently gives private piano lessons to students in the Dixfield area. She is the Music Director and organist at the Dixfield Congregational Church. Mary lives in Peru, Maine, with her husband Todd. They have five children and four grandchildren~~at last count!
