The perfect friend
Although I’m on my own I’m not alone
I have one perfect friend to call my own,
And though my sight is dim, your smile I see,
Each day Dear Lord, you come and talk with me.
And though I’m deaf, your tender voice I hear,
Dear Lord, with you I know I’ve nought to fear,
If my poor feet should stumble on life’s road,
You’ll come to me and gently take my hand.
You’ll take my hand in yours and lead me on,
While you are near all cares will soon be gone,
It matters not where in the world I go,
If you are there, dear Lord, I’m safe, I know

Nella has complied this delightful collection of her poems to dip in and out of, some are deep and thoughtful others light hearted and humorous all the more impressive considering .Nella has always had poor sight and hearing. And is now deaf and blind.
She used to help her parents in their bakery, till her sight became too bad. But still managed too look after her mother when she suffered a stroke for quite a number of years. After her mothers death she was sent to live with her brother in
All through her life she has liked poetry and written o lot of poems herself when she had some vision and later with help from friends and carers. She is a very independent lady and certainly knows her own mind, but as you can tell from her poems she has a very caring and soft side.
Nella has decided that all the proceeds from this book of poems will go to the charity. Deafblind
