The captain was a down to earth person who needed every possible angle covered before accepting an answer so Zach wasn’t even going to try and explain where he had been. If he did, the captain would likely lock him away to be observed by the proper physicians. “I’ve been,” Zach paused, thinking his answer through carefully, “doing a lot of traveling.” “Traveling? Whereabouts?” “Here and there, no place special.” Zach tried to change the subject and steer their conversation away from where he had been for the last 18 months. “So, can I use the computers and our files, or not? I promise not to make a mess of anything.” “This person is that important huh?” Zach nodded and smiled. “Yes, he is.” “Well, at least I know it’s a ‘he’,” cracked the captain. “You never were one to explain things clearly, yeah, sure, go ahead.” He shrugged and stood. “Use what you need to use. Before you leave this time, at least have the decency to say good-bye huh?” “Ahhhh, did you miss me captain?” teased Zach. The captain brushed him off as he blushed. “Do what you need to do and don’t screw anything up or I’ll have your ass in a sling, got it?” “Yes sir.” “Good, now get the hell out of my office.” Zach didn’t say another word as he walked out of the room and back towards his old desk. He couldn’t help but grin. Now maybe he can get some work done. His thoughts turned to Riane and he hoped she was having more luck over at the library with her research. He sat down at his desk and clicked his computer on to surf the internet. He brought up a search engine and paused with his fingers sitting on the keyboard. Where would one start to look? What name or phrase would you use? Where in the world do you even begin looking for some mythical wizard by the name of ‘Merlin’?

About the Book
What if someone came along and offered you a chance to take the road less traveled? A chance to live a dream? That was the case for Neil Baxter, Zach Thomas and Tony Merello in TRIO Book One. A strange man showed up one day and offered them exactly that, a chance to help and begin anew on a strange world where magic thrives and all creatures of myth and magic do exist. The adventure continues in Book Three ‘Ascension’ as Neil, now crowned King with Tasha as his Queen has begun a new era of the monarchy on the world of Avalon. In the six months that have passed since the destruction of the Dark Dragon they are making every effort to bring the races of the world together. The wizard Malcolm, while investigating regions in the south, discovers an abominable evil on the verge of escape and after his return to Kildare Castle an old nemesis re-emerges with a legion of demons at her command and threatens to conquer not only Avalon but to cross over to the ‘old world’ and annihilate ‘all who refuse to bow down to her’. The Trio is once again separated to fulfill different quests to fend off the approaching demon storm bent on destroying everything in their path in their desire to subjugate the world of Avalon. All the races join forces against the oppression of a witch gone mad and all the powers of darkness at her disposal. Amidst it all, a mythical wizard of lore and bedtime stories joins in the battle to save not only one world but two! New alliances are forged, legends become reality, and destinies will be determined. All will not be as it was before. The War of Magic’s is about to commence.
About the Author
As I began work on Book Three of the TRIO series, an idea and story that i've had in my mind for a few years now, I was extremely excited to finally get the adventures of all the characters under way once again! Even more so after a number of great book signings and positive reviews from readers who have read books one and two. Writing the TRIO series has been a blast. I always set the bar high for myself as I try to take each new adventure to a new level to outdo its predecessor and I must say it is not an easy task. As book three unfolded I think i've managed to succeed in accomplishing that feat. While I was working on Book Three I was often asked if I would write of any further adventures in the TRIO series. Would I? Well, though 'Ascension' will mark the end of the initial trilogy, I have had a few new ideas to bring to fruition in the next series of adventures involving the cast of characters in TRIO. So, yes, there will be more and I look forward to setting the bar even higher.
In todays hectic world I think we sometimes tend to forget to sit back and enjoy things such as a good book, and I hope that I've been able to allow my readers a chance to enter into their imagination and escape. Feel free to check out my website www.kevinleeauthor.ca
