One day Gretchen was playing with a ball, she would drop it and let it roll down the hill. She loved this game. She would run down the hill and fetch the ball. She would bring it back to the top of the hill and drop it again. This could go on for quite a while before she would get tired or bored.
On this day, however, when she dropped the ball it kept rolling. She ran down the hill to get it, but the ball landed in the stream and the water carried it far away. Gretchen ran faster and faster, trying to catch up with the ball. She ran so fast that she was not paying attention to where she was running, and the next thing she knew she was lost! She forgot about the ball and started to run back home, but she was not sure which way to go!

About the Book
One of the first things you notice about this book is the illustrations. They are the product of a very talented group of young people. They all attend North Gwinnett High School, in Suwanee Georgia. This book centers around three dog sisters. All three are different in many ways. Gretchen is very energetic, Layla is more laid back, and Cricket tends to be a bit nervous. This story is about how one dog gets lost and the other two set out to find their missing sister.
About the Author
The author lives in Georgia with her husband and their pets. She gets her inspiration for her stories from her pets. They all have such amusing personalities. Reading has always been a very important part of her life and she made sure it was incorporated in her children's lives at an early age. She and her husband have always encouraged the children to read, because if you can read you can learn.
