This book will do little to improve your game. If you want to learn how to play better, buy something else or go see a teaching pro for lessons. This book is written to help you endure the game whether you play well or badly. Human beings by their very nature can’t stay out of trouble, they seek it. The premise of this book is that you will not learn from your mistakes and will continue to play in the forlorn hope that just a few more lessons, a new driver, or different ball will make all the difference and suddenly you’ll be the club champ, the best of your foursome, or you’ll break 80. In fact you probably won’t do any of those things, but you might. Until you do, I hope this book will help you endure the trials and disappointments of a cruel game.

H. W. Collier is an avid golfer who has played the game for nearly fifty years..His handicap remains in the double digits in spite of thousands of dollars invested in equipment, lessons, and practice. In short he can still only now play about as well as he could thirty years ago. Never the less, he remains enchanted by the game and continues to play with the same enthusiasm that brought him to the sport.
