About the Book
"Poetry is my language, the way I weave my world together. When I let my hand and heart simply move, I am able to retrieve the essence of experience from the chaotic. Poetry heals and returns me to life unencumbered."
About the Author
Frances Michael grew up in Salisbury, North Carolina surrounded by gorgeous trees, bountiful flowers, changing seasons, plenty of vegetables, and a good southern upbringing. At age five she began to study dance. The minute she learned to write a few words, she wrote her first poem and never stopped.
Graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in Performance Dance, she opened a dance studio but never quit writing. Her passion for poetry turned into songwriting for a while. She created two magical CDs for preschoolers that captivate adults as well as children.
All activities that are right-brain oriented compel her interest including music, photography, art, cooking, psychology, health and healing. These passions have led to her certification in many forms of health and well being practices, most recently her certification as a Sixth-Sensory Intuitive Counselor, Sound Healer, Soul Coach, and Reconnective Healing Practitioner.
At the time of this printing, Frances is finishing a health cookbook that will be available in 2010. It is based on her extensive studies as a microscopist and Ph-health coach with Dr. Robert O. Young, the microbiologist who wrote The Ph Miracle, The Ph Miracle for Diabetes (that contains one of her recipes), and The Ph Miracle for Weight Loss.
In 2007, Frances created a seminar called “The Art of Listening”. It is an interactive workshop experience that can be delivered in different formats for different time frames from two hours to two days.
Available for poetry readings, public speaking, cooking clinics, seminars, or private sessions, you may contact her through her website at francesmichael.com. Her books and CDs can be ordered from there as well.
Since 1989, Frances has resided in Las Vegas, but she has never lost her accent or her southern heart.
