Rock’n’Roll
Walking is overrated.
We’ve been doing it since we were created.
It’s not something that I hated.
And if I could do it again I’d be elated.
Dancing is out of sight!
Why, I’d do it without an invite!
It used to give me such delight.
If I could dance again, I think I might!
Running just makes you tired.
It’s not something I ever desired.
I could run if I was so inspired
or if for gym class it was required.
Driving will get you around
depending on where you are bound.
But today I shall be profound;
with driving I’m gaining no ground.
Swimming didn’t bring me fame.
Of that I can truly proclaim.
Notoriety was not my aim.
I enjoyed it all the same.
Rolling has taken on a new gist.
It gives ambulation a new twist.
All I need is a flick of the wrist.
To my destination I shall persist.
Today I wish with body and soul
that one day I’ll be able to take a stroll.
One day in the future I’ll reach my goal.

• adjective: persistently or morbidly thoughtful; pensive; pondering
If you check your thesaurus you’ll get synonyms like:

• rumination
• reflection
• meditation
Our ‘take’ on musings is that we can write about our feelings, our observations, and our experiences. We can write in prose or we can rhyme. We can question and we can tell you our explanations. We can pray or write lyrics. We can share our opinions and you may or may not agree. And that’s okay!
We’ve spent the last three years of Saturdays together musing about our lives and writing down our thoughts and feelings for you to read. About the Author
Mary C. Cantwell is a veteran special needs teacher with a dream to write. Michael R. Grego is her former student who shares a similar dream. Together they have worked three years to complete this, their second book of poetry and short stories. These two authors utilize their 'musings' to share ideas, thoughts and emotions with you, the reader. It is also possible to share with Michael the path of his recovery from a traumatic brain injury. Join them in their journey.
