About the Book

I am often told I wear my heart on my sleeve. In this book of poetry, I wear my heart and soul on paper, warts and all as they say. Throughout my life's greatest loves and losses poetry has been my voice and comfort. They are my testament of faith, struggles, and life lessons.

About the Author

Born and raised in Winnipeg Canada, I am the youngest of four. My father was a Korean war veteran often working two or more jobs to support us. My mother was a stay at home mom. Both were physically challenged. They taught us the importance of love, family and forgiveness yet encouraged us to be strong and independent. Being the victim of bullies at school, writing poetry was always an outlet for me. When my mother died at the tender age of 50(I was only 15 at the time), our whole world fell apart. I spent the next two decades trying to figure out who I was and what my purpose in life was, writing poetry gave me the answers. I worked in the hospitality industry till the age of 25 when I studied to become an esthetician. I've owned my own business ever since. After an 8 year marriage that ended in divorce, I met Kevin, the love of my life. Although I'd continued to write poetry all the while, for it reinforced my beliefs that  a happier life existed( My poem'Unconditionally' won  Editor's Choice Award on Poetry.com fall of 2007), it was Kevin who proved me right. A musician himself, he encouraged me to pursue my creative talents. My life is now filled with love, music, art and poetry. I can finally be my naked self.
