I hope after reading my story about how GOD turns my life around after repentance, that you discovered how precious and important you are to the Kingdom of GOD, and how HE can turn your life around to. Peter said it best in Acts 10:34 - 43 (KJV), “. . . . . .Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons . . . . . . . . . that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” That brings me to my final illustration in this book, the book of Joel. I thought it will only be fair to close this chapter by allowing you the opportunity to open a new chapter in your life with GOD. I guess we can call it your turning point. I can’t even begin to discuss the message GOD gave me from the book of Joel without first given thanks to my mother. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been seeking directions and guidance as to how I was suppose to bring the book to a closing. I knew GOD wanted me to speak on Salvation but I wasn’t sure how and what illustration HE wanted me to use. Yesterday I loaded up my computer, excited because I thought I was going to finish my final chapter of the book, but nothing. Than my mom called, she said she just had a dream and in her dream I told her to read the book of Joel. She said, “I told her in the dream that GOD wanted her to read it”, so she opened up her Bible and started reading. But she wasn’t sure what GOD wanted her to get from her reading. So she asked me did I have a word for her from GOD. I told her no, GOD didn’t direct me to say anything in particular to you but I would seek HIS face to make sure. Now, I have to admit that I didn’t even know there was a book called Joel in the Bible. Since my mom said GOD told me to tell her to read it, I was now curious as to what the book talk about. So, I told her I would also read the book to see if HE would show me something in particular I needed to share with her, again nothing. Although I enjoyed my reading and was blessed by the revelation I received, the truth is nothing really jumped out at me, other than the fact that Joel a prophet of GOD spoke to the people of GOD about the plague that came as a result of their sin; and that GOD will bring unparalleled blessing for those who repented and turn from their sinful ways. Don’t get me wrong those were awesome words of encouragement from the LORD and they came right on time. Let me explain why, the last couple of years have been pretty hard for me and my family, my mother’s battle with cancer, my children having children before they were married, all the stresses and disappointments life was bringing to my family, and now my husband loses his job. I thought GOD was directing my mother to share her dream to give me a few words of encouragement instead of the other way around. HIS words brought peace and strengthened my faith, it was like the LORD was telling me to just hang on because he was about to work things out for my family. Joel 2: 23 (KJV), “Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.” Although the book brought me great comfort I still didn’t feel like HE (GOD) was directing me to share some big revelation with my mom. I called my mom back to let her know what I learned from the reading and told her I will read it again on tomorrow out of my study bible to see if I missed something. After reading it today I felt like a light bulb just went off. I was so excited I couldn’t even finish my reading and I called my mom back up. I said I know why HE wanted you to share your dream with me. I began to explain to her how I was waiting on word or some direction about the finally chapter of the book and the book of Joel was it. I was so excited and she was just as excited. I began to read her a passage of the text that talks about the fact that we are called to pass on the knowledge of GOD, Joel 1: 3 (KJV), “Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell the

About the Book
This manuscript, "The Turning Point - When a Pleaser of Man Becomes a Servant of the Lord," is a call for believers to stand up to core values and teachings of Christianity in the face of challenges and not to submit to the ways of the world. In the book, I address the current state of affairs, where people have submitted to the demands and expectations of others to shape the way they live. Most often, they have chosen a path away from the virtues taught by Jesus Christ, paralleling the struggles of men and women of our biblical times. I address some of the issues we face on a daily basis such as stress, premarital sex, and the various life roles we must play.
In the latter part of the manuscript, I share personal testimonies about my life struggles imparted by the work of the devil, and how I found peace and joy through the salvation of Jesus Christ. In closing, I exhort everyone to check their own lives and live up to the ways of righteousness.
About the Author
Katina S. Acker was born in Muskegon, Michigan and has lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the past twelve years. She is the proud wife of Gabriel Acker, the mother of four beautiful children James, Antawanicka, Perrionte, Lamarr Sherrills, and the grandmother of James Sherrills, Jr. and Jaduh Sherrills. This book is the answer that Katina received from the Lord explaning the reasons for some of her struggles. She had asked the Lord the same question, "Why Me?" over and over again, year after year, always longing for an answer. Then it finally happen, On Oct 20, 2006 at a church revival. Katina received God's inspirational and prophetic words from one of God's prophets. Prophet McClain, a woman she had never seen before, answered questions that Katina had never shared with anyone. Only the Lord would have known. Barbara McClain spoke under the authority of the Holy Spirit such powerful words. "And even when you were wondering, God, why did I have to go through that? And the Lord said, not only for yourself, but you had to go through it so that your testimony can set other young women free."
Katina hopes that this book will do all that God has purposed and predestined it to do, set those in bondage free.
