About the Author
Marty Kavanaugh was born in 1953. He was the third son of Jim & Phyllis Kavanaugh and had seven siblings. They were an active family and outdoor sports were popular year round. Marty took a liking to ice hockey at an early age while watching the game with his father. His love of the game sent him on many road trips to see NHL games in various cities. He married his wife Ginger in 1974 and have three children. Christy was born in 1977, John in 1980, and Jason in 1984. While spending his adult life working in the plumbing industry in sales and management, he earned his Masters Coaching Certificate from USA Hockey, coached 16 seasons, and bought a Pro Shop in 1992. Marty is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis. He enjoys golf and movies, and continues to spend time with his boys watching the great game of hockey.
