The Petroleo-Tango evolved in Argentina in the 1940s. It tended to its own rules, not Europe's. But with Hollywood's influence, the very showy Show-Tango had been developed by the Argentineans in the 1950s. By the 1980s in Buenos Aires, their Petroleo-Tango had blossomed into the Solon-Tango Genre with its numerous sub-types and Styles: The Rotary-Tango, Linear-Tango, the Tango-Orillero, Tango-Apilado, Milonguero-Tango, Club-Style Tango, Tango-Nuevo, and the Liquid-Tango.

About the Author
A Captain in the US Air Force, TOM NELSON served as a Pilot in World War II.
As an Engineer for 43 years, he designed major portions of the steering rockets for Apollo Moon Landings, the Space Shuttle, and for the MX.
Dancing almost constantly since he was six, he taught SWING for 26 years.
He has written Dancing and Related Skills for 14 years, of which this is a part.
