About the Book

The book is about this second generation migrant who pursued with his mother’s dream/ aspiration to see her son become a doctor, become highly qualified.   The book illustrates the childhood and upbringing of the author in Pakistan and in the UK.  The book demonstrates the commitment, enthusiasm, hard work, of the author to continue to achieve his goal to become a doctor despite repeated failures at school, college and university due to the system and embedded theories such as the labeling theory in education.  The author proves that not to give up, but try and try again to succeed, which he did.  As the old saying goes if you don’t succeed at first then try again. It is true that you do achieve your desired goal in the end.  With commitment, conviction, hard work, enthusiasm , mother’s prayers and God’s blessing.


About the Author

     The author born in Mailsi sharif Pakistan, a second generation migrant to the UK, at the age of 9. Who despite repeated exam failures never gave up his mother’s dream.  The author succeeded in becoming a doctor with British education- a ‘Walat pass’.  He is married with eleven young children.  He a community activist, and active in local and national politics, and has stood for local council and Parliament on Islam Zinda baad Platform..  Despite having 7 British  degree qualifications he has been victim of racial and religious discrimination in the employment sector, hence he has been unemployed for the past 5 years.  The author believes that Britain is still racist today.
