About the Book

Children’s books can not only be entertaining, but also educational. CHAUCER’S TOY BOX, is both. Using the antics of a real, fun-loving, almost human-seeming little dog, the author entertains through the use of actual pictures, illustrations, and poetry. The book also provides the opportunity for children to identify with Chaucer and learn that they, too, should put their toys away after playing with them.

About the Author

Lynn Lensmire was born in the beautiful, rolling hills of north-central Wisconsin.  As a small child, she could be found investigating the yellow petals of a dandelion, orcheering on a tiny ant as it struggled to carry something, more than twice its size, backto its nest. Always close by was a dog, a faithful companion who shared every adventure and listened to every magic story Lynn had to tell.

Lynn's love and deep appreciation of nature and animals was shared with others asshe grew up. She and her husband, John, have ?ve grown children and ninegrandchildren, all of whom love to take quiet walks, watch the sunset, and, yes, marvelat a little ant as it struggles to carry something more than twice its size.

As a teacher for many years, Lynn taught hundreds of children not only to look, but to see, to take time to appreciate what was around them, and yes, even to take that littlebug on the schoolroom ?oor back outside so it could go about living.

Now that she is retired, Lynn has decided to share the world she loved as a child, a world where frogs talk, dogs listen, and ?owers wink at you when you aren't looking. She hopes you enjoy CHAUCER'S TOY BOX, the ?rst in her series of books, “TAILS BY CHAUCER”.
