The Rabbi replied, “Do come in, for I am glad you are here
you see, I can’t find the menorah that we’ve been using for years.”
What’s a menorah went through his moose mind
it sounds like something very important to find.
“The menorah holds candles”, the Rabbi explained,
“when it’s all lit, it holds nine little flames.”
“It is important we find it, important indeed
for the festival of lights, the feast of Maccabee’s.”
“I don’t understand,” the young moose did exclaim
“why do we need something with nine little flames?”
“The one in the middle is the servant and lights all the rest.
It has four on the right side and four on the left.
The others are lit, a new one each night
till the whole menorah is lit with nine little lights.”
“But why do we do it, what is the reason
has it got something to do with the snow and the season?”
“The reason, young moose, if you really must know
is to remember a miracle that happened a long time ago.”

About the Book
A young moose, perplexed and confused by all the holiday hustle and bustle he sees around him, discovers the meaning of Hanukkah and how he can participate in a very unique way.
About the Author
A puppeteer and ventriloquist, who likes to dabble in all things creative, was inspired to write “The Hanukkah Moose” while looking at little holiday moose ornaments. One of which had a little blue ski hat on prompting the comment, “oh, that one must be the Hanukkah Moose”.
Intrigued by this thought, he sat down to compose the story as a Hanukkah gift for a friend.
