About the Author
Deborah Johnson-Simon is a graduate of the University of Florida, Gainesville, with a doctorate in anthropology. She is a museum anthropologist whose research concentrates on museums of Africa and the African Diaspora. She is currently the museum registrar at the James E. Lewis Museum of Art at Morgan Sate University,in Baltimore, Maryland.
