About the Book
Football Wild! is the sequel to the recently published satirical play Football Mad! A Modern Satire of a Very Old Sport.
After England's pathetic absence from the Euro 08 Championship and the devastating impact of the British Government Football Enquiry, the rules of engagement of the football fraternity are changing, generally for the better. Unfortunately, the credit crunch and general tightening of finances coupled with the marked punters' dissatisfaction with the beautiful game, push the boundaries further with surprising results.
The next goal is the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the battle of wills between the TV networks and other media intensifies, the lessons only half-learnt and the lines half-drawn. African football becomes of real interest to a new breed of Football investors from further afield. This new development enables true competition and the relegation of the P(rima) D(oner) L(eague), unable so shake its stale and passe image.
